The women of noir were vital to the film and I like to think in some degree to the women of that time and even still today. They inn their own way made those films, in fact, in all honestly where would the plot have gone without them. These women of film noir brought a new vision into public light, a vision I’ll always remember and be thankful for.

Film Noir gave women strength. They left behind their damsel in distress personality and took what they wanted, usually with any means necessary. This film genre showed women everywhere that strength was in each woman if only she would reach down and harness it.
This film genre also showed women as strong beautiful powerhouses. The woman of film noir would use their beauty to achieve and keep their power. They would gladly portray a meek damsel in distress but only to rise up above the men who up until that moment held the power.
Cunningness and calculated thoughts were key ingredients that film noir placed in the making of the women of noir. A common plot of film noir movies was that of the man falling prey to the women’s every wish and desire through her calculated and cunning moves. Women of Noir characters showed that they had a brain and they would gladly use it to their advantage.
Though somewhat risqué for the times of film noir production, women of noir were seductive. They showed that they knew what they had and knew exactly how to use it. Not only that, they also made it quite clear that the bedroom enjoyment wasn’t just a man’s reward, they were going to join the game and they were going to win.
